Why are there directories on my server?
By default LittleEgg Software creates three directories
within your website managed location. Each of these
directories applies to specific responsibilities, below is a
description of each directory.
html - This directory is the default local path for your
entire website. All website files should be uploaded to this
directory. The main home page file should be labeled any of
the following
File names : index, home, or
default
File extensions : HTM, HTML,
CFM, ASP, PHP
database - This directory is used to store all Access
based databases, and is also used to upload any MS SQL or
MySQL database files to be used.
logs - This directory is used to store all log files
for your websites activity. These files are stored in the W3C
format.
Using a Web Browser for FTP Open any web browser (Internet Explorer, Firefox, Mozilla,
etc). In the URL enter your FTP name.
"ftp.yourdomain.com".
You will be prompted for a User ID and Password, once entered
you will have access to upload and download any files to the
directories listed.
Microsoft FrontPage Upload
When uploading your website through FrontPage, be sure to use
the following directory path:
"ftp.yourdomain.com/html" If you do not specify the "html" portion of
the URL, all other directories and paths may be deleted.
